We carried out the complete design and installation of the Electrical, Mechanical & Compressed Air Services associated the clients requirement to build an extension to their fork lift truck component factory. The brief for the project was to provide the general installations to service the factory extension and to incorporate a new automated production line. This necessitated the design & installation of complex systems such as compressed air, chilled water, pneumatics, 210v & 380v power systems, BMS, programme control, Halon, Argon & Oxygen distribution. As well as the general 240v 415v power, lighting, Fire Alarm, Computer, Telephone, Security, heating, ventilation and Hot & cold water services systems within the premises and surrounding grounds.

Kenhar Products, Manchester (SBM Projects)

Once the structural works had been completed the client instructed our company to co-ordinate and install an automated production facility purchased from Italy. The process enabled the formation of steel forks for fork lift trucks, from square section bars. Included were induction heaters, manipulator, bending presses, welding machines, etching machines, conveyor belts, cutting machines & robotics. All of which were controlled via a Siemens PLC controller. Our task was to assess extent of process be purchased, modify the production space in Manchester to allow installation of line & to arrange removal and transportation of the plant to the new facility. Once the equipment arrived in Manchester we carried out its reinstallation into the new extension. Numerous complication had to be overcome due to sabotage by the Italians, and the difference in operating requirements between Europe & the UK. All of which was carried out and set to operation within an 8 week program.
